Noah Brown

Vocals, Guitar

Influences: Christy Moore, Neil Anderson

Noah was born and raised in the interior of Northern New York. The son of a minister, he grew up playing piano, guitar and singing in his father’s church. Noah had taught himself guitar, piano, and electric bass by age twelve, and quickly began honing the distinctively driven rhythmic style that today provides the backbone of cliudan.

By fifteen, Noah was playing electric bass and guitar with the progressive faith oriented Gen Next Band. It was during this tenure that his abilities and love of public performance really began to grow. After playing with the group for three years he left for college, playing only occasionally in sessions and jams.

Noah met Andrew at college, and the two suffered through undergraduate and graduate school as good friends, though never playing much together until late in 2002. A chance collaboration at King Street (the King Street Sessions), that was really just an excuse for old friends to get together, sparked a fire of creative energy and effort that would become cliudan.

Through all those years, and through rock, faith, acoustic and Celtic, Noah has now hit full stride. He’s broken more than a few strings over the years and he’ll certainly break and bend many more before it’s all over.
